Snow

As I am writing this, it is snowing outside and snow is a very treasured event where I live! Many of my piano students can’t wait to play in it and I am looking forward to taking in its beauty. I’m even playing with a partially original piano composition that reflects snowfall. However, the most beautiful thing I have learned about snow is found in Scripture.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV - 1978 revision) says: “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Based on this verse, snow, and rain, are a symbol of the certainty with which God’s Word does what He sent it to do. God’s Word draws us to Him, sanctifies us, leads us, grows us, and, ultimately, saves and seals us.
